The Federation of Jewish Communities in Spain (FCJE) condemns the attack of Friday 29th January against the Main Synagogue of Barcelona in which one person was wounded and other material damage was caused. It is the second attack in a few weeks on a Barcelona synagogue.

The Federation of Jewish Communities in Spain draws the attention of the authorities and the general public to these attacks and urges that politicians publicly condemn these acts and make sure that they are not repeated.

The FJCE asks the authorities to strengthen security, to protect the principle constitutions of freedom and non-discrimination and to show clearly their disgust at these anti-Jewish acts.

This anti-Semitism demonstrates how easy it is to contaminate certain groups by means of misinformation, Manicheism and the malignancy of Israel which prevail in some social groups and the media.
